argentinian artist tomas saraceno made first big appearances in last years 53rd venice biennale and making worlds, both venues curated by daniel birnbaum (now director of moderna museet, stockholm.)
in his current show "cloud cities connectome" saraceno presents "clouds" inspired by the structures of microscopic neural synapses within the human brain. micro becomes macro in the spaces of tanya bonakdar gallery! 

william earl kofmehl III // @ lombard freid projects

william earl kofmehl III's exhibition "dear father knickerbocker, i just googled you" opened this nov 6 and is on show until dec 21 in chelseas lombard freid projects (518 west 19th street). my personal highlight of this show are the 150 embroded canvases, with smart, funny, ironic and critical little "statements". see them below!

the artists found his inspiration for the canvases from the internet. many of the statements play with factual information, historical events, fictive narratives and new york citys history.

also on show a gigantic wooden squirrel sculpture in reference to the trojan horse and a selfportray of the artist sitting on a bench with little corn eared and zucchini tailed creatures.
